State law requires that all stores mandated to provide plastic bag and film plastic recycling for consumers under the Plastic Bag Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling Act must continue to do so.

Stores with 10,000 square feet or more of retail space and chains which operate five or more stores with greater than 5,000 square feet of retail space are required to comply with the law. All film plastic recycling bins should be easily visible.

You can recycle plastic bags and other film plastics at large stores, shopping malls, and at medium to large chain stores. Plastic bags and other film plastics that are being returned should be free of debris.

Stores are required to allow the use of reusable shopping bags and make them available to their customers for purchase. The City and State do not set prices for reusable bags.
